Marilyn Eigsti, owner of Wonderful Water Lilies, is writing up an order next to one of her ponds.
Marilyn is a retired psychotherapist and professor. During the working years, pond keeping was her hobby and stress reliever. After retiring in 2006, water gardening became another career. A career that permits further enjoyment of her hobby as well as providing stress relief.
Marilyn served as the president of the Florida West Coast Koi and Water Garden Club for two years and chaired the pond tour for two years. It was an excellent way to learn more about her hobby and meet some of the big names in water lily breeding. Although she has always been interested in gardening, pond keeping adds another dimension to her life and allows her to continue to work with the public.
Marilyn's husband, Nick, worked as a plant geneticist but also enjoys building ponds, keeping the plumbing in working order and giving advice on the more scientific aspects of growing plants. Both of their personal and professional experiences contribute to the success of Wonderful Water Lilies.
